The Every Child Education Equity Pledge

I believe every child deserves a chance and should be educated in a way they can actually learn.

I know that the limitations of the current system of education make it hard or impossible to meet the needs of every child.

I know that trauma and the toxic stress of poverty can affect learning, and I believe that the education system must change in order to make sure that children growing up in poverty, children affected by trauma, do not fall through the cracks.

I believe that the economic and racial achievement gap can be eliminated if society as a whole decides that doing so is important enough.

I believe it is important enough. I support the mission of Every Child Education Equity Project and pledge my help and support as I am able.

What We Demand

1. Radically smaller class sizes in neighborhoods with high Child Adversity Indexes.
2. Universal ACEs Screening.
3. A right to individualized education when needed for children with high ACEs.
4. True trauma-informed schools and curriculum.
